DDH -Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip

Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is a condition in children, where the ball and socket joint of the hip is not formed properly. This condition is also called congenital dislocation of hip/ hip dysplasia.

Types of Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip:
Acetabular dysplasia
Subluxable dysplasia
Subluxed dysplasia
Dislocatable dysplasia
Dislocated dysplasia
Some factors that can cause DDH are: family history of DDH, being in the breech position during pregnancy, being part of multiple gestation pregnancy, and environmental factors like poor nutrition can cause DDH
